How to use the Projectile Motion Calculator?
Step 1: Enter the Initial velocity of a particle.
Step 2: Enter the angle of projection.
Step 3: Enter the Initial Height.
Step 4: Now click the button “Calculate ” to get the result .
Step 5: Finally, the Range, Maximum height, Time of Flight will be displayed.
What is Range?
In projectile motion, range is defined as the horizontal distance traveled by an object. It is the product of the object's velocity and the time of flight. The range of a projectile can be determined by using the following equation: R = Vx * t where R is the range, Vx is the velocity in the x-direction, and t is the time of flight. The range of a projectile is affected by factors such as air resistance and gravity. If there is no air resistance, then the range will be equal to the horizontal component of the velocity multiplied by the time of flight.
However, if there is air resistance, then the range will be less than this value. Gravity also affects the range of a projectile, as it causes the object to fall back to Earth over time.
R=u2sin2θg
What is Time of Flight?
The time of flight of projectile motion is defined as the time from when the object is projected to the time it reaches the surface. Time of Flight depends on the initial velocity magnitude and the angle of the projectile:
i.e.
Maximum Height:
The maximum height is reached when Vy=0. Using this we can use the velocity equation to find the maximum height.
h=u2⋅sin2θ2⋅g
